+++ Minister announces initiatve for tenure track positions ++ Petition to be handed in to parliament in June ++ Petition can still be signed on paper +++
Dear supporter of the online-petition „Perspektive statt Befristung“,
according to a report in Süddeutsche Zeitung last week, minister Dr. Wanka now announced an initiative, to create more tenure track positions at universities in cooperation with the federal states (www.sueddeutsche.de/bildung/deutscher-hochschulverband-glanz-und-elend-der-akademiker-elite-1.2407940) . Details are still pending, but I take this announcement as a further sign for the science system beginning to change. Also it is quite important that the core of the crisis, also thanks to our initiative, starts to get into focus – the lack of permanent employment opportunities. Here we should keep insisting and raising awareness.
In June our petition will finally be handed in to the Bundestag. While the online list of signatures is closed, for new supporters it is still possible to „classically“ sign the petition on paper, up to the end of May (see download area of www.perspektive-statt-befristung.de for the form).
Have a nice week,
warm regards
