Dear supporters of the Manifesto on Sustainability,
First of all, I would like to thank you very much for signing the petition on behalf of the initiators from all status groups! Within a very short time, we have managed to become a not inconsiderable group of over 1,200 university members united by the same overarching goal.Your and your support has helped sustainability, climate neutrality, and climate justice become issues beyond the university's academic committees.
As I'm sure you've noticed, the World Climate Conference in Glasgow has been over for a few days now, and as you might expect, the results are unconvincing. More precisely, what governments have promised sounds nice, but is far from reality. According to the Climate Action Tracker, we end up at 2.7° by the end of the century, measured by current policies. This still falls far short of the 2015 World Climate Conference target of limiting global warming to well below 2°C and preferably below 1.5°C - and further threatens and destroys our natural livelihoods in the Global North and South. This is not sustainable, neither for the present nor for future generations!
It shows how important sustainable and climate-friendly action is today. This is true not only in Glasgow, but also in Bremen. Therefore, I turn to you again in the name of the initiators with the request to join forces once again - also to contest the last stages of the petition.
It would be great if you would spread the manifesto to your colleagues and fellow members: be it in direct conversation, via existing email distribution lists or messenger groups. If we all manage to convince two more people from our environment to sign the manifesto, we would have already exceeded the target number by far. Therefore our request: if it is possible for you, share the petition and forward it. Here is the link again:

At the same time, active members of Students For Future Bremen are collecting signatures in front of the mensa at the university. You are welcome to pick up signatures there, too, if you know more people who would sign the manifesto. However, on the petition page, there are downloadable signature slips on the right half of the "Sign on Paper" screen.
If you have any other ideas on how to spread the word about the manifesto, my email address is: dominik.lange@posteo.de
Only together we are strong enough to launch the social-ecological transformation that is so urgently needed.
Best regards
Dominik (Lange)
