Dear all,
As you might be aware there was a lot of controversy about the second petition message we sent to the Schulamt. Firstly, we would like to apologise that we did so in the name of all 317 petitioners which was not a fully true picture. Of the 317 peitioners 5 actually withdrew their support and explicitly disagreed with this approach (others might have silentlly disagreed).
Due to a legal filing against us we could not comment publicly and sooner about claims that we should have made "slanderous accusations". We did in fact make a mistake with the regard to the statement that Mr. S. was throwing a computer keyboard at students. This was corrected and legally solved and the corrected text was changed to:
"Der Schulleiter wift ein Computer-Keyboard im Chemie Unterricht mit Gewalt auf den Tisch und schreit Schüler an und verliert komplett die Kontrolle sowie verlässt das Klassenzimmer. Dazu sagt er zu den Schülern, dass diese den IGCSE-Abschluss nicht bestehen würden."
The legal representation of Mr. S. accepted this corrected version. Please understand that this mistake was not intentionally made. We tried to present facts and were not dilligent enough. We write this not to again ecalate the situation but to provide transparency that you need as petitioners.
As a result of the petition effort a group of parents came together and discussed over the past 4 weeks how to move forward constructively. We also involved Greg Morgan the scondary school PR. We have written a vision and manifesto that expresses a vision for SISS. As next step we feel that we would need a Parent Association "Parents for SISS" which is a common set up at most international school (e.g. Nelson Mandela School in Berlin - similar state driven set up as SISS).
On this coming Wedneday (28th MAy) we would like to invite parents to meeting to discuss the vision and menifesto as well as the set up of a *Parents for SISS* association. We will meet at Gasthof Brandhof, Stettbacher Tal 61, 64342 Seeheim at 7:30 pm. We would love to invite all parents that have an interest to make a difference at SISS. This is an all inclusive invitation also for parents that did not fully agree with the past approach.
We would love to see parents to get involved. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Have a blessed week
Angela & Frank (and a dedicated group of parents in which name we act)
