Osaka's first integrated resort to secure 530 billion yen in loans

MGM Osaka IR's New Funding Plan:

This is the largest co-financing loan issued in Japan involving several banks, according to well-known news outlet Nikkei. 

Estimated budget for MGM Osaka IR construction, taking bank loans and investors' funding into account, amounted to 1,27 trillion yen.

The much-awaited resort will be located on the artificial island of Yume-Shima, located in Osaka Bay, and is expected to open in 2030 if everything goes as planned.

The integrated resort is a product of the joint forces of MGM Resorts Japan LLC, a Japanese unit of the world-famous American MGM Resorts International, and Orix, a domestic company. These two industry giants will be the main shareholders of the resort. However, there will be a few minority investors, including Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Inc., a Japanese-based conglomerate, and Hanwa Inc., another Japanese giant. There are a total of 22 minority shareholders, and their company's headquarters is located in Osaka. 릴게임

 The prefecture has disclosed the overall structure of its stake in the project and funds.

Plan changes and new events:

Regarding equity financing, the budget is set at 740 billion yen and the loan portion is set at 530 billion yen. MGM Japan has 41% interest, Orix also holds 41% and small investors hold 17% of the total shares.

Things changed when new investors confirmed they were willing to participate. Before that, equity funds were set at 720 billion yen, and loans were 550 billion yen. MGM Japan and Orix held 43% of the total stake, while minority investors held 15%.

Before the opening of MGM Osaka in 2030, Yumeshima will host Expo 2025 Osaka, another event that will welcome visitors to Kansai, Japan. MGM Resort will sponsor the U.S. Pavilion at the event, and visitors will be able to visit there from April to October 2025.
