Dear Supporter.

Because of you and many other supporters we could collect 19,177 signatures in only 6 weeks.
Thank you very much for this.
Beside this petition we also have had a lot other activities to fight against the closure. This activities include human and light chains, Christmas cards, signing of Christmas carols in front of our workshop in Goerlitz but also in front of the corporate headquarters in Munich and many interviews in different newspapers and magazines. We believe that these activities are worth the effort because we see a good reputation and a huge media response. We also believe that these activities also brought our CEO Joe Kaeser to visit Goerlitz on December 19th. Well he could not give all answers because the negotiations even didn’t start but we hope it is a good sign.
In the upcoming year we will protest harder. Our next bigger action will be a demonstration together with our friends from Bombardier on January 19th at 1 p.m.
Although the workers council of Siemens and Bombardier and the labors union (IG Metall Ostsachsen) call for this demonstration we are also fighting for the economic prosperity of the whole region. Therefore we also hope for many supporters joining us this day.
We know that there is a long way to go until we safeguarded these turbine workshops here in Goerlitz. We hope that this big support continues like that.
Thank you very much in advance.

We wish you and your loved ones a happy new year

Sincerely yours,

Employees of Siemens Goerlitz
