Petition richtet sich an: CCAMLR

Dear supporters of ecological diversity and for saving the planet's nature,

On Tuesday Russia and Ukraine, with the support of Norway, refused to participate in the necessary unanimous decision to declare the area of the Antarctic a marine protected area. Formally they argued that we are lacking in scientific evidence - after ten years of work of the CCAMLR, not to mention much knowledge about the area since the beginning of human history.

The true reason for this boycott seems to be that these countries are trying to protect the economic interests of their fishing industries - and they don't mind destroying the planet for money reasons.

I call upon you to oblige yourselves each and every one of you individually to boycott all products of the fishing industries of Russia, Ukraine and Norway until the agreement of the CCAMLR to protect the Antarctic and surrounding areas has been signed and enforced.
